Today, more than 2.5 exabytes (2.5 billion gigabytes) of data is generated every single day. In 2022, the world is set to produce and consume ninety-four zettabytes of data. As we globally evolve from a ‘big-data’ era into an ‘extreme-data’ era or ‘data economy,’ the rate of data capture is now almost limitless and unimaginable.

It is expected that by 2025, the amount of data generated each day will reach 463 exabytes globally and that by 2030, nine out of every ten people aged six and above would be digitally active.
